Redesigned web reporter intake flow
A redesigned web reporter intake flow to further support reporters and give compliance teams the detailed information needed for effective investigations.

A strong reporting experience starts with an intake flow that feels simple, safe, and clear -especially when someone is sharing something sensitive. That’s why we spent time understanding how people move through the flow today - what’s working well and what could be even more intuitive.
With those insights and user feedback, we’ve launched a redesigned web reporter intake flow - built to better support reporters while ensuring compliance teams receive the detailed information, they need for effective investigations.

Read on to explore the new updates, and how SpeakUp makes it easy, safe, and secure to report on misconduct topics through web-based browser.
These updates only apply to the web-browser intake experience and represent the latest update to just one of several intake methods we support. Other methods, such as the Mobile App, Phone Dropbox, and the AI Voice Agent, are not affected by these updates.
Built for SpeakUp Report: misconduct reporting and case management
This redesigned intake flow is part of SpeakUp Report, our misconduct reporting and case management solution.
SpeakUp Report makes it easy to report, and act on, misconduct. It enables secure, anonymous reporting anytime, anywhere, on any device, and in any language. Every report flows into one streamlined system, helping organizations investigate concerns quickly and resolve cases with confidence.
Progress indicators: better expectation management throughout the flow

One of the most prominent improvements in the redesigned intake experience is the addition of progress indicators. Reporting can sometimes feel like an uncertain process - especially if someone doesn’t know how many steps are involved or what information they’llbe asked to provide.
The updated flow now clearly shows how many steps are required to complete the report, and where reporters are in the process.
This makes it easier for reporters to understand what’s expected from them at each point in the intake process, reducing confusion and helping them stay confident and engaged all the way through submission.
By making the reporting journey more transparent, progress indicators also help reduce drop-off and encourage more complete reporting.
Reporter code: helping reporters return to their report

A key part of the reporting process is enabling reporters to return and follow up after submission. The reporter code has been a crucial element to the high check-backrate within the SpeakUp platform, and it continues to be fundamental. The redesigned intake flow makes the reporter code more visible and reinforces its importance, ensuring reporters clearly understand that they need it to comeback.
The flow now includes clearer messaging that the reporter code is required to:
- Access their case again later
- Continue the report or add more information
- View messages or updates (where applicable)
The experience also reinforces that the reporter code should be saved immediately, as it is the only way for a reporter to return securely without creating an account.
In short: this code is essential - reporters need to save it to come back.
Email opt-in: a clearer choice for updates

The redesigned intake flow also improves how we present the email opt-in option. Reporters can choose whether they want to provide an email address for updates, while still staying in control of how they’re contacted.
We’ve made this step clearer and more transparent, so reporters understand:
- What they’re opting int
- Why we’re asking
- How it supports communication throughout the process
How it supports communication throughout the process
This approach helps build trust, improves clarity, and supports better follow-up when reporters choose to share contact details.
Accessibility first: WCAG as the foundation
Accessibility was a core focus of this redesign. The updated intake flow follows WCAG guidelines, helping ensure the reporting process is usable for a broader range of people, including those relying on assistive technologies.
By using WCAG as the foundation, we’ve improve
- Readability and clarity of content
- Structure and navigation throughout the flow
- Consistency in patterns, labels, and interaction states
This approach supports inclusivity while aligning with the standards many organizations require to deliver accessible digital experiences.
Better reports, stronger investigations
By guiding reporters through a clearer and more supportive intake process, the redesigned flow helps users provide more complete and accurate information. That, in turn, helps compliance teams receive the detail needed to conduct effective investigations—more efficiently and with greater confidence.
