Ethics in action: Building speak-up programs across diverse workforces
EY & SpeakUp interactive session
Tuesday, 15 September, 2026
15:00-17:00, followed by drinks
Wavespace, EY Amsterdam office

Your speak-up program doesn’t reach everyone equally. A 22-year-old frontline worker calculates risk differently than a 55-year-old director. In some cultures, reporting a manager carries social risk. In others, loyalty to the group comes first. Yet most organizations run one program for everyone.
In this session, compliance officers from ICL, ING, and IDEXX share what they’ve learned designing and adapting speak-up programs across their workforces. They’ll cover the barriers different employee groups face, what surprised them, and what’s starting to work.
You’ll then take those insights into a peer discussion with fellow compliance leaders, sharing what is actually working in your own organizations. The session is followed by time for networking and connections.
What you'll walk away with
- First-hand examples from peer compliance leaders on how different employee segments think about reporting risk
- The barriers that matter most, by generation, culture, and organizational level
- Approaches other organizations are testing right now, including what hasn’t worked
- A peer conversation that surfaces what your own program is missing
